From directly in front of the Charles Smith house, the viewer sees the Harriet Beecher Stowe house across the street. Moving right, the Chamberlain house appears on the far corner. The houses on the same side of the street are new. The Charles Smith house is now owned by the Antiquarian and Landmarks Society, and their offices are in the building. Moving around to the right, the viewer can see the new Hartford High School in the location that was occupied by the Warner and Gillette houses.
