Senator Francis Gillette House

The Gillette House was built for Senator Francis Gillette and was the boyhood home of the actor-playwright William Gillette. Gillette eventually built a barn near the new house, and the basement was used as a "station" of the Underground Railroad. The house was torn down to make room for the new Hartford High School.
